SWAS-BTEC Wellness Competency Framework
In December 2017, SWAS signed a MOU with Pearson Education, one of the largest global Education Conglomerate, to develop the SWAS-BTEC qualifications for Beauty, Hair, Nail and Spa technicians and therapists to be regulated by SWAS. SWAS identified about 100 training courses for those who wish to develop job competencies in the four sectors of the Wellness industry in Singapore.
SWAS-BTEC Courses are available for Beginners at level 1, Technicians at level 2, Therapists at level 3 to Supervisors and Managers at level four; thereby providing step by step training to enable learners develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities to assume different responsibilities as they progress in their career. SWAS-BTEC qualifications are competency based and support the training of workers according to job requirement in modules and may be combined with on-the-job training to enhance competency in the workplace.
Although regulated by SWAS in Singapore, the specifications of SWAS-BTEC qualifications are provided by Pearson Education UK, together with stringent protocols and training to Trainers, Assessors and Internal Verifiers in ensuring a high quality and robust delivery system. Pearson Education UK send Standard Verifiers periodically to validate the integrity and quality compliance of SWAS-BTEC qualifications according to the international standard of Pearson Education, thereby expanding the career horizon of SWAS-BTEC graduates beyond Singapore.
The SWAS-BTEC Level 4 SRF Specialist Diploma in Complementary Therapy was launched in March 2019 with 4 Singapore Training Institutions and 22 trainers cum assessors participating in the implementation training.
The SWAS-BTEC is not officially launch yet at this moment. For more information, please contact SWAS here.
